I had a big bag of apples that no one was even making an effort to eat so Ineeded to do something with them quickly. So here’s what I came up with.
And honestly, I was only guessing at amounts, but it came out perfect, if I do say so myself! Keep in mind, I didn’t measure anything so everything is appropriate.
Ingredients:
- 14 red delicious apples, cored, peeled and sliced
- 1 stick of butter
- 3 tablespoons of sugar
- Cinnamon
The crust:
- Approximately 2 cups of self rising flour
- About a cup of sugar
- Generous dash of cinnamon
- 1 3/4 cups milk
Set oven to 350.
- Place the stick of butter in a 9x13 pan. Place in the oven until the butter melts.
- Sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon over the melted butter, then add the apples to the top of that.
- Mix up the crust: mix all crust ingredients in a large bowl. Pour over the top of the apples.
- Bake for about 40 minutes.
